Week 7 - Review

According to the Sonlight curriculum, this week was to be a week of review, which worked out very well for us.  This week turned out to be a crazy week with four out of our five mornings filled with either Dr.'s appointments or Bible Studies.  Though Lil e didn't end up having much school, somehow we still maanged to complete all of Big E's school work.

Calendar Time

I am loving the flexibility of this curriculum.  Though we didn't have Calendar Time each day we still managed to sneak in all of our "required" readings and handwriting and letter review practicing.  I am looking forward to getting back to a "normal" schedule this coming week (hopefully).  I am encouraged that  we were still able to make progress in our schoolwork this past week despite our busyness.  It gives me great hope that school will continue to progress well when our newest family member joins our family sometime soon. 

Lil e showed no interest in school during our one "normal" day of school.  I'm okay with that since she's still so young.

Big E's school highlights:

* Reviewed the letters F, B, M, T, R, and A

* focused on the /a/ sound

* did a little more reading: "am, bam, rat, bat, ram, mat, etc."

* reviewed writing letters C, U, and c

* practiced retelling stories, "The Tortoise and the Hare"

* practiced turning socks inside out
